1. Who we are & what this policy covers
This Privacy Policy is issued by Bread Squared LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), which operates the Bread Squared and Bread Brains brands.
It applies to the personal information we collect through all of our public access points, including:
- Our websites, breadsquared.com and breadbrains.com, and any subdomains;
- Our landing pages, marketing funnels, and online intake, application, and contact forms;
- Our online appointment-booking and calendar scheduling tools;
- Our email and text-message (SMS) communications;
- Our prequalification tool and any credit-information review you authorize (Bread Squared);
- Our online learning, membership, and community platforms (Bread Brains);
- Our official pages and profiles on third-party social media platforms.
We refer to all of these collectively as the "Services." Where a practice applies to only one brand, we say so. Because Bread Squared and Bread Brains share this policy, some sections below will apply to you and some will not, depending on which Services you use.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.
2. A note on our services
Understanding what we do helps explain the information we handle:
- Bread Squared is a Credit Services Organization registered in Texas that provides credit-profile positioning, optimization, and related consumer and business services. As part of these Services, and only with your authorization, we may review credit information to help identify and build appropriate options. We do not guarantee any particular credit, funding, or financial outcome.
- Bread Brains provides financial-education content, courses, mentorship, and community access. It is a separate brand and is not a substitute for individualized financial, legal, or investment advice.
This Privacy Policy describes our data practices only. It is NOT our Credit Services Organization consumer disclosure statement, our contract, or any other required consumer notice, each of which is provided separately where applicable.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Identity & contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
- Intake & application information, information you submit through our forms, questionnaires, applications, and scheduling tools, and details about your goals and situation.
- Financial and identity-verification information (Bread Squared), where necessary to provide the Services and with your authorization, this may include date of birth, Social Security number or taxpayer identification number, income and employment details, and financial account information.
- Payment information, billing details processed by our third-party payment and financing providers. We do not store full payment-card numbers on our own systems.
- Account & community information (Bread Brains), login credentials, profile details, and content you post in courses or community spaces.
- Communications, the content of messages, emails, texts, call notes, and support requests you send us.
Information we collect automatically
- Device & usage data, IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and general activity on the Services.
- Cookies & similar technologies, see Section 8.
- Approximate location, general location inferred from your IP address.
Information we receive from third parties
- Credit information, where you authorize it, a "soft" review of your consumer credit information obtained through a third-party prequalification provider and consumer reporting agencies (see Section 4).
- Advertising & lead partners, information from advertising platforms and lead-generation partners when you respond to an ad or campaign and ask us to contact you.
- Service providers & platforms, information from our payment processors, scheduling, community, and analytics providers used to deliver the Services.
4. Credit information & soft-pull prequalification (Bread Squared)
To help you understand your options, Bread Squared offers a prequalification review. This review is handled by a third-party prequalification provider working with one or more consumer reporting agencies. The following applies to that process:
- Your authorization is required. We request your consumer credit information only after you provide your express written authorization and only for a permissible purpose, consistent with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
- It is a soft inquiry. The prequalification review is a "soft" pull. A soft inquiry does NOT affect your credit score and is not visible to lenders reviewing your credit.
- How we use it. We use the information to assess prequalification, evaluate eligibility, and tailor recommendations for positioning and building your credit profile. Prequalification is not a commitment, approval, or guarantee of any credit, funding, or outcome.
- Who provides it. The credit information is supplied by consumer reporting agencies through our prequalification provider. We share it only with service providers and funding partners as needed to provide the Services you request, or as permitted or required by law.
- Your FCRA rights. You have rights under the FCRA, including the right to obtain the information a consumer reporting agency holds about you and to dispute inaccurate information directly with the agency. A summary of your rights is available from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov.
- Adverse action. If we or a partner ever decline a request based in whole or in part on information in a consumer report, you will be provided any notices required by law, including the source of the report.
5. Sensitive personal information
Some information we collect, such as your Social Security number, taxpayer identification number, financial account information, and credit information, is considered sensitive. We collect and use sensitive information only where it is reasonably necessary to provide the Services you request, and with your consent where required by law. We do not sell sensitive personal information, and we do not use or disclose it for purposes other than those described in this policy without first obtaining your consent.
6. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, and administer the Services, including prequalification and credit-profile positioning (Bread Squared) and education, courses, and community access (Bread Brains);
- Verify your identity and evaluate eligibility for the Services;
- Process payments and administer financing and payment plans through our providers;
- Schedule, confirm, and conduct appointments and consultations;
- Respond to your questions and provide customer support;
- Send transactional messages (such as confirmations, reminders, and account notices);
- Send marketing and educational communications where you have consented, and manage your preferences;
- Personalize and improve the Services and measure the performance of our content and campaigns;
- Protect against fraud, secure our systems, and enforce our terms;
- Comply with our legal, regulatory, and CSO/FCRA obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.
7. Email & text (SMS) communications
Email. With your consent, we send marketing and educational emails. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We may still send you non-marketing messages related to your account or the Services you have requested.
Text messages (SMS). If you provide your mobile number and opt in, we may send appointment, account, and (where you consent) marketing text messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not sell or share your mobile opt-in or consent information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
8. Cookies, analytics & advertising
We and our providers use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember your preferences, understand usage, and measure and deliver advertising. These generally fall into three categories:
- Essential, needed for the Services to function, such as security and basic navigation.
- Analytics & performance, help us understand how visitors use the Services so we can improve them.
- Advertising, used by us and advertising partners (including social-media advertising pixels) to measure campaigns and show relevant ads on other sites and platforms.
Your choices. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org). We honor recognized universal opt-out signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), see Section 17.
9. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described below:
- Service providers. Vendors that perform functions on our behalf, for example, website and funnel hosting, CRM and scheduling, data storage, payment processing, prequalification, email and SMS delivery, community platforms, and analytics, under contracts that limit their use of the information to providing services to us.
- Funding and lending partners (Bread Squared). Where you direct or authorize it, we share relevant information with lenders or funding partners to pursue the options you have requested.
- Advertising partners. Limited information through advertising cookies and pixels to measure and deliver advertising. Depending on your state, this may be considered "sharing" or a "sale", see Section 10.
- Affiliated brands. Between the Bread Squared and Bread Brains brands where relevant to services you have requested.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or regulator, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of you, us, or others, and to detect or prevent fraud.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
10. Sale & sharing of personal information
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money, and we do not sell or share sensitive personal information. However, some state privacy laws define "sale" and "sharing" broadly to include the use of advertising cookies and pixels for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. To the extent our use of those technologies is treated as a "sale" or "sharing" under those laws, you may opt out. You can do so by adjusting your cookie choices, using the advertising opt-out tools in Section 8, enabling the Global Privacy Control, or contacting us using the details in Section 19.
11. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and thereafter as required to meet our legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations (including obligations that apply to credit-services and consumer-report information) or to establish or defend legal claims. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
12. How we protect information
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure, and we limit access to those who need it to provide the Services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please help protect your information by keeping your account credentials confidential.
13. Your privacy rights & choices
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply to you, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Know / access, confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy;
- Correct, request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- Delete, request deletion of personal information we hold about you;
- Portability, obtain a copy in a portable, readily usable format;
- Opt out, of targeted advertising, any "sale" or "sharing," and certain profiling;
- Limit sensitive information, where provided by law;
- Non-discrimination, we will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your rights.
Texas residents (Texas Data Privacy and Security Act)
If you are a Texas resident, you have the rights listed above. We respond to verifiable requests without undue delay and within 45 days, with one 45-day extension where reasonably necessary (we will tell you if we need it). If we decline your request, you may APPEAL by contacting us using the details in Section 19. If we deny your appeal, you may submit a complaint to the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov. We recognize the Global Privacy Control as a valid opt-out of targeted advertising and any sale of personal data.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the rights to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent to submit requests.
Residents of other states
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights. We honor the rights that apply to you under the law of your state of residence.
How to exercise your rights
To make a request, contact us at admin@breadsquared.com or by mail at the address in Section 19. We will verify your identity before responding and may need to confirm certain information to locate your records. You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf where the law allows; we may require proof of authorization.
14. Financial privacy
Because some of our Services involve financial and credit information, we treat nonpublic personal financial information consistent with applicable federal and state financial-privacy laws. We restrict access to this information to personnel and service providers who need it to provide the Services, and we disclose it only as described in this policy or as permitted or required by law.
15. Children's privacy
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
16. Third-party links & platforms
The Services may link to or operate on third-party websites and platforms (for example, payment, scheduling, community, and social-media platforms). Those third parties have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not govern them. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you use.
17. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for Do Not Track, we do not respond to those signals. We do, however, recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid request to opt out of targeted advertising and any sale or sharing of personal information for browsers on which it is enabled.
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
